I have an extensive Portfolio of web sites I have worked on, however due to many of the sites being completed under employment and various design/development agencies, I cannot list the directly on this page. If you would like information/links to sites I have completed whilst working for web design/development agencies please contact me for details/URL’s. Also remember I’m a developer, not a designer. If it needs coding, SQL needs writing, java needs wrangling and stuff generally needs to work I’m your man. If you want fancy graphics etc you need a designer. Please Note – I no longer have time to take on Freelance projects. I now concentrate on developing my own sites and this is more than a full time occupation.
	: : John Large.co.uk – This Blog. My long standing blog has seen many revisions, various domains etc. Now that I’m concentrating on being an entrepreneur & Academic (no longer chasing fruitless web development jobs and boring client demands) this site is my main outpouring of observation, criticism and geekery. Updated regularly with various sites & projects I’m working on for myself.
	: : Koolbadges – My main source of income and my baby. This site has allowed me to become a full time self employed geek. I spend a lot of time tweeking, managing and promoting this site online, and it is now the primary income for my family. To all those who said we where fools to pursue this, who’s laughing now!
	: : Pendant Pixie – Our latest website and perhaps the quickest developed site I have ever made (6 hours). The site is ever growing, and is currently at the introduction stage so a lot of time is spent on SEO and promotion. A really exciting prospect which started making money from day one.
	: : iPrint Images – This is a hobby site aiming to sell some of the wonderful photographs taken by my talented wife. This is an ongoing project which we don’t have a whole lot of time to dedicate to.
	: : Design Objects – This is a collaboration with St Helens based product designer Steven Almond. Steve wants a fullCMS driven & dynamic site, so I’m developing a custom CMS for this project. main aim of the site will be to raise awareness of Steve’s Services and to showcase his work.
	: : UNITY – My MMU Masters degree Thesis project code named UNITY is a social networking tool aimed at Students at MMU. I’m currently developing this full time around running the business so development is coming pretty thick and fast. Hopefully this will be out of beta soon, and I can get some money for future development. URL remains hidden pending funding.
	: : Tech-WTF (now this site, domain name retired) – Originally started to host a weekly tech pod cast, the site has now become my own personal blog. The pod cast is still expected to be added as soon as I have time to sit down and record the first few episodes.
	: : Off plan Investment – A site I created for a Client specialising in the sale of Off plan Investment Properties in the North-West of England. This site is written in PHP with a CMS at the backend. Fully Data Driven solution that was built for Maximum Search Exposure in a small timescale. This is an Ongoing project.
	: : Koolbadges.com – Designed an online store based on the Zencart Ecommerce solution. Responsible for Domain registration, Hosting, script installation, templating & customisation of storefront, adding of additional modules such as a MySQL backup function. I was also responsible for all graphics, logos and text. Set up user email accounts for the store and developed an advertising banner and Myspace layout. The site is based on Zencart and uses PHP, MySQL, CSS & XHTML.
	: : Vickibruce.com – A site I produced for my wife to showcase her photography work. Includes integrated gallery tool using php and Mysql, Weblog function and full visitor tracking figures. An ongoing project
	: : Manxpoint – Corporate presence for Isle Of Man based technical consultants Manxpoint. Site consists of absolute positioned layout with a fairly graphic UI. The site was required to match the current corporate presence such as business cards and letterheads. Another requirement was maximum accessibility so all pages use validated XHTML 1.0 and all CSS is validated. The screen size is also optimized to work on smaller displays without degradation. This is an ongoing project working with the owner Scott.
	: : Johnlarge.co.uk – This Site. Used as an Online Portfolio to demonstrate my technical and design abilities in web design. Includes work produced for clients and work completed for university projects. All pages & CSS created to W3C standards and all HTML & CSS validated to ensure accessibility and usability.
