Well Everyone, this Graduate has gone and done it. Landed a job that is. I started working for Kudos Web Design Yesterday and its going OK so far. I am currently working as a Web Designer/ Developer Junior. This is the next practical step after university, whilst I have tons of experience in builidng my own sites to my own spec, its a much different beast creating sites for someone else. So far I have been learning the ropes and getting into the swing of things. Designed an advertising flash banner this morning and composed some text for a static site yesterday.
The boss Andy is going to show me how to create database driven sites using dreamweaver at some point in the next few days which will be interesting as I have little experience in creating Dynamic sites from scratch. I can’t wait to see how the CMS works, and how I can create it. Hopefully i’ll pick this stuff out without too much trial and error.
You may be asking how I have time to post to my blog now I am employed. Well lets just say we are quiet right now, waiting on the next batch of work coming in so really just killing some time and kicking back.
I have my own machine which is cool. Means I can dump myself here in the morning and spend the day accumulating junk around my keyboard. I currently have a half eaten beef sandwich, a couple of coffee cups, lucozade, water, wallet, glasses, phone, ipod and a couple of books. Gotta love that.
I have been getting muchos stressed about starting work the past few days, to the extent that I think I have made myself ill. Feels stupid now I am sat here typing in my blog. Ahh well.
Besides starting work, not alot is happening with me. I turned 23 a couple of weeks back, and I gotta say, it feels no different. Obviously it doesnt. On the flip side, now that I am working I can afford to finish my bloody driving lessons so I’ll be getting onto that asap. Vicki & I are looking at buying a Dodge Caliber. They are pretty rare over here in the UK, but they are damn cool. Perhaps be the first thing we buy when we sort some of this damn student debt. Also going to look at buying a house when we get chance, which should be cool.
